(Note:We haven't included anyplace on this list that we haven't already tried and that we would return to in a nano-second. We've not been paid by anyone to include them on this list; most won't even know we've created the list unless you tell them on a future visit.)
The Jockey Club: Tucked away between The Bellagio Fountains and City Center on The Strip, this place is old Las Vegas.
Suncoast: Located in Summerlin, just north of The Strip this place is a family-friendly hotel and casino, that has a movie theatre and bowling alley within the complex. Great dining on site. Free shuttle to The Strip and to the airport.
Treasure Island: Located on The Strip, this property has recently been renovated; rooms are very nice and often affordable in comparison to its neighbors across the street (Wynn, Encore, Venetian and Palazzo). Free pirate show each night shouldn't be missed. Drop by Gilley's to watch the buckin' bull riding.
Palazzo/Venetian: These adjoining properties offer spacious suites. We might have a slight preference for the Palazzo; both are nice.
Wynn/Encore: We've stayed in both properties and it is difficult to determine which we like best; if a free upgrade to one or the other is offered, we take it.
Geiser Grand Hotel This charming historic hotel is in the heart of this Central Oregon city, putting you walking distance from restaurants and 'watering holes.'
Wallowa Lake Lodge This 1920's lodge on the southern end of Lake Wallowa is a must see if you are anywhere near Joseph on Oregon's eastern border; and a stay is a step back in time.
Hotel Electra Palace - Just a few blocks from Syntagma Square and walking distance to the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum
Hotel Stavros, Chora Sfakia: Just typing the name makes me want to go back to this family-owned place on the southern coast of Crete. Studios and rooms. The somewhat basic accommodations may not appeal to all, but their warm welcome on our return trip, was one of the best hotel 'loyalty' perks we've ever had. We've stayed there on three different occasions and found the accommodations to be clean, adequate and the hotel conveniently located.
Byzantinon Hotel - We wholeheartedly recommend this place in Leonidio - for a full description read: the post we wrote following our stay in 2013. We will return in 2014.
Poros: (Saronic Islands)
Hotel Manessi: One of our favorite and affordable places in Greece. Our room with a view opened to the Greek mainland. Stayed here twice in the fall of 2010 and again in 2013. Hotel renovated in 2014.
Niki's Hotel, is in within the old town's walls. A family-owned place with personality - and a rooftop view deck.
Villa Victoria is walking distance from the train station and puts you near the public market and the famous seaside promenade. The central courtyard was a charming place to sip wine in the late afternoon.
Hotel Residence Foch we spent a single night here as result of plane connections; we do plan to return to this most charming place. An easy walk to the Air France shuttle buses.
Hotel Cecelia is steps from the Arc d' Triomphe - a perfect location. Breakfast was included in the room rate - a nice touch. It was also an easy walk from the Air France shuttles to the airport.
Mecenate Palace Hotel: We chose this one-time-home-turned-hotel because it was walking distance to the train station. Turned out to be walking distance to all the tourist sites. A great find, we returned in the fall of 2016 for a visit - service and amenities remained high, price reasonable, location convenient.
