I went to the front desk yesterday at the Scottsdale Fairmont and asked for a history sheet. . .bet you can guess they didn't have one, nor could anyone tell me how long the resort has been here. Give me old, historical hotels...Ah, how I envy you. Give me old, historical hotels, (especially if they have been restored to perfection in their original style,) any day. I carefully stay away from chains, and most resorts. What they offer in amenities, luxury and comfort, they often lack in personality and charm. Making a note of this wonderful "old charmer."
